"Jesus... Who Went About Doing Good..."

(Acts 10:38)

This passage in Acts comprises what is the greatest biographical statement in the history of man. Jesus went about doing good things. He fed those who were hungry, healed those who were sick, and brought salvation to man through His death on the Cross. All of this done for those who took it upon themselves to end this marvelous life; He who knew no sin was made sin to redeem us all.

We all have a part in the death of Our Savior, but through His resurrection we find forgiveness and hope... and responsibility. A child of God, a baptized believer in Christ, (Acts 2:38, Gal. 3:27) is commanded to live in the same manner as Christ did; thereby showing the lost world the way of salvation and the hope of eternal life through obedience.

As such, we at the West Avenue Church of Christ try to do our best to not only work and teach within our community, but to reach out and support the work of the Lord's Church in all the world. There will always be the debate whether or not America is now, or ever was, a "Christian Nation", but one thing is certain: through the providence of God, we are free to speak our faith aloud. To know to do this, and to not to do it, is most assuredly a sin (James 4:17).
